One of life's greatest pleasures is getting to hop on a plane, and travelling to a new place. I absolutely love travelling and getting to explore new destinations, whether it be a quick weekend city break or a few weeks in paradise, I'm always at my best when I'm on the go. This year has already bought a few amazing trips my way and I've managed to enjoy some gorgeous places for the first time. I've been to South Africa, Lisbon, Bilbao, and in a few weeks time I'm off to New York for Halloween and then on to Boston for my Birthday weekend. These are two of my favourite places and have never let me down when it comes to having a good time. When Antler got in contact saying they wanted to send me one of their cases from their latest range 'Global', I couldn't resist and knew that it'd be perfect for my upcoming trip.
I've always loved traveling in style and absolutely love the sleek and clean design of this range, with it's hard outershell and high shine finish. The range comes in two colour options and as you'd expect, features three sizes; cabin size, medium (the option I went for) and large - meaning there's a size for whatever type of trip you're going on.
Something I have found with other hardshell cases is that they aren't the lightest, however this isn't an issue here. Antler's Glabal range is relatively lightweight and I was actually surprised at how light the box was when I received it. Some airlines have been quite cheeky recently in reducing peoples baggage weight limit, however the weightlessness of this case means I can pack even more outfits to shoot during my time in the Big Apple without having to worry about excess baggage fees or overpacking.
Let's talk practicality and durability. This year I had a suitcase completely give up on me, with one of the wheels snapping off and the handle buckling to the point where it couldn't be folded back in. I don't think this is going to be an issue here. The case seems extremely sturdy and Antler have finished every element to a very high standard. The four wheels are a life saver when it comes to navigating around the airport and the extendable handle is extremely sturdy. Even the built in TSA compliant lock feels extremely robust and will definitely keep everything inside safe and locked away.
Something I feel people overlook is the internal compartments and storage space. These cases have a great amount of room, with the case split into two main compartments; one secured by an elasticated strap, and the second in a zippable compartment, featuring a few smaller places to keep loose items. This is always so handy when I'm on the go, especially at keeping clean and dirty clothes separate and so that everything doesn't come out the case when you reach your destination looking screwed up and in one jumbled mess.
I've already used my case for a weekend trip, and have actually used it to shoot a few outfits around central London and can happily say it survived it's time being dragged around Oxford St and central London.
