Here’s one for the whisky lovers. Glenfiddich Whisky has partnered with iconic 5-star Hotel Cafe Royal here in London to create a serene winter experience - Escape to the Valley of the Deer. Offering a limited-edition whisky dessert pairing, you can enjoy a unique set of sweet couplings each paired with a single malt until the end of February.
On offer is a Vanilla Caramel candy paired with Glenfiddich 26 Year Old Grande Couronne, Nyangbo chocolate ganache paired with Glenfiddich 23 Year Old Grand Cru and finally Pistachio Macaroon, paired with Glenfiddich 21 Year Old Gran Reserva.
Although each of the pairings were extremely delightful, my favourite had to be that of the Grand Cru and chocolate gnash. Grand Cru challenges the convention of using sparkling wine in whisky-making. This truly exceptional single malt boasts mouthwatering flavours of rich vanilla oak, sweet brioche and pear sorbet.
