My Daily Skin Care Favourites For Men

Spending more time at home has given us all more opportunity to look after ourselves. The winter always wreaks havoc on my skin, drying it out with drastic temperature changes and with the central heating on in the house. I find this time of year requires more maintenance and upkeep than the summer months, which is why I wanted to share a few of my favourites incase any of you are in the market to restock your bathroom cupboards with a few new products.

I don’t know how many times I’ve mentioned on here or my other social media platforms that I have sensitive skin, but I can struggle to find products that don’t irritate this and cause further issues for me. I’ve learnt that water is one of the best remedies for good skin, and staying hydrated is paramount in looking after your body in general. Don’t underestimate a good glass of water!

Everyone’s skin is different which is why it’s important to build your own skincare routine, and find products that suit your lifestyle and body’s needs. Even if it’s starting to use moisturiser or a daily SPF, you’ll be grateful for taking care of your skin as the years roll on.

NO. 1
Cade Revitalising Cream
£45 | 50ml | L'occitane

This is one of the newer products in this list, however one of my favourites. Ideal for normal to dry skin, Cade Revitalising Cream delivers total care for a man’s skin needs.

1. COMFORT : contributes to intensely hydrate and nourish
2. PROTECTION: fortifies skin and protects against external aggressors and the irritation experienced from shaving
3. SOOTHING: calms and soothes skin, especially post‑shave
4. FIRMNESS: helps regenerate and firm skin.

It’s quite thick in texture, however it’s immediately absorbed into the skin without leaving any shine or stickiness. They recommend you apply it immediately after shaving, or as a morning and night cream. I personally don’t like applying too many products before bed, however I’d definitely recommend using this as part of your shaving routine or as a finishing product after cleansing.

NOTE: The scent is amazing!

NO. 2
Barbiere Pumice Face Scrub
£32 | 75ml | Acqua Di Parma

This exfoliating face scrub from Acqua Di Parma is made up of a gentle formula containing a blend of high quality oils and pumice granules. It clears impurities while micro‑granules from the pumice stone remove dead skin cells and build‑up for a fresher‑looking face.

The non‑foaming texture is quite gentle on the skin, and doesn’t dry out the face like other products I’ve used. It’s also scented with the classic Acqua Di Parma Colonia fragrance and a little goes a long way.

NOTE: I’ve given this whole range a go, and have always been pretty impressed with the Barbiere range. Another stand out for me is their shaving cream, delivering a silky finish.

NO. 3
Dermalogica Precleanse
£39 | 150ml | Dermalogica

The Dermalogica Deep‑Cleansing Oil melts grime and impurities from the face to achieve ultra clean and healthy‑looking skin. It targets layers of excess sebum (oil), sunscreen, waterproof make‑up, environmental pollutants and residual products that build up on skin throughout the day and is designed to be used at the top of your skincare routine.

I was a bit cautious about this as my t‑zone can be oily at times, and the idea of using an oil based product on top of this raised a few concerns. I was wrong. I didn’t have any breakouts or irritations from this and love how it leaves my skin feeling afterwards. Massage over a dry face and eyes to dissolve surface oil and dirt, Wet hands and continue massaging to create a light, milky emulsion. Rinse with lukewarm water.

NO. 4
Neutrogena Clear Soothe Moisturiser
£5.99 | 75ml | Neutrogena

This has been one or the best discoveries for me. Finding a moisturiser that didn’t feel heavy and leave my pores blocked felt like an impossible task. The Neutrogena Clear & Soothe Moisturiser helps to hydrate and calm stressed spot‑prone skin without irritation.

The light‑weight moisturiser is a quick‑absorbing water gel formula that immediately hydrates to soothe and replenish moisture, leaving skin feeling cushioned without any sticky residue. It’s also oil free, and although it’s scented, the tangy aroma leaves me feeling awake and refreshed.

NO. 5
Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser
£31 | 160ml | Cult Beauty

I’ve definitely saved the best for last. This effective yet gentle 3‑in‑1 bouncy grime eraser, cleanser, and deep clarifying mask hydrates the skin without stripping it, helping to combat blemishes and breakouts over time.

Once again, I have sensitive skin and the
Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser that was recommended the by a friend, is now the holy grail for me in my skincare routine. A little goes a long way and a single pump is enough to cleanse the whole face and leave it feeling fresh. It is marketed towards woman, however this is now my go‑to cleanser!

It’s also free of; Parabens, Mineral Oil, Sulfates, Silicones, Phthalates, Alcohol, Synthetic Dyes. Vegan and is Leaping Bunny Certified Cruelty‑free.
