So a few weeks back, Jess and I were invited to spend the night at the prestigious JW Marriott Grosvenor House London, and we of course snatched up the opportunity. Situated on Park Lane, this 5 star London hotel offers one of the best stays in the city, and has held a world renowned reputation for the longest of times. We were offered one of their Executive Suites with views over Hyde Park and access to their Executive Lounge.
Let's start with a little bit of information about the hotel itself. Last year, Grosvenor House celebrated it's 90th birthday, which I was lucky enough to attend, and has always held a very high standard or both service, and accomodation with plenty of guest facilities and food & beverage options including;
"the tranquil Park Room serving the British tradition of Afternoon Tea, JW Steakhouse, Corrigan’s Mayfair or Ruya London for curated culinary experiences. Gather with friends in either our Red Bar or Bourbon Bar to relax and indulge. Discover the iconic Great Room and art deco Ballroom and upscale meeting space for your next significant occasion. Every detail of your stay with us is designed to nurture and celebrate your personal passions. Every step of the way, our skilful team are committed to offering a thoughtful, personalised service to enrich your experience. We wish you an exceptional stay."

I have to say that this one of the best stays I've ever had in a hotel, and the service was truly second to none. We were welcomed with a tour of the hotel upon arrival and the sheer size of the building was truly incredible. There are so many rooms for an inner-city hotel and especially one of this calibre. That being said, it doesn't feel too oversized and still manages to create a number of intimate moments with homely touches throughout.
Whether it's a quick drink, leisurely lunch or a formal dinner, they truly have something for everyone when it comes to food and drink as well, with the in room dining options being just as good as the main restaurants (This truly was the BEST room service breakfast I've ever had as well). I also feel that I must mention the Bourbon Bar as this was one of the highlights from our stay. Stocked with an extensive collection of Whiskey and Bourbon, the bar boasts some of the rarest bottle around, with some even dating back to pre-prohibition era. If you ask the team, you can view some of the 'doctors notes' that came with these as a form of medicine during the ban, which I thought was a truly unique and impressive touch.
Another stand out moment for me was getting to try their world famous cheesecake. Yes you read that correctly, this cheesecake is famous all around the world and even has its own hashtag on social media. I knew it was going to be good, but I wasn't prepared for how good it truly was. These things are huge so there's plenty to share and you can pick them up from their bakery area even if you're not a guest at the hotel.
Something I do want to touch on is how this hotel may suit you and your needs. The price is similar to that of other 5 star hotels so you can expect to pay a bit more than other options, but in my opinion the overall service and experience justifies the fee. For us, it was all about switching off getting time to refresh from our daily lives and getting time to relax. We definitely managed this, however if you're looking for something a bit more fun-filled and on the go, this would make the perfect inner city base for exploring the city and getting to enjoy what London has to offer. After all, this is where Walt Disney spent his honeymoon back in 1935, so they're obviously doing something right!
