Let's ignore the fact that most of us have probably been living in sweatpants for the past few weeks, and focus on the few occasions that we've actually managed to make the effort to properly get dressed and to make that extra bit of effort. I've cut my own hair (twice) and haven't been the most motivated. That being said, there have been a few occasions in which getting dressed in something nice has actually helped with my overall mood and productivity levels. I thought 'd pull together a few of the looks for you and pieces that I've been wearing.
Yep, I'm back with the ecru jeans. This is my favourite pair of denim right now and the relaxed fit jeans from Topman are roomy enough that they're comfortable around the house, and mean you can still look great. I wanted to stick with a neutral colour palette so threw on a black tee and faux leather jacket from River Island for the weekly food shop. Yes, you can run errands in style.
This was my take on smart-casual, home office wear. I filmed a video this day for youtube and wanted to look a little smarter and think this look matched everything I wanted. I'm always a fan of navy and khaki together and think contrasting tailoring with safari/practical clothing elements looks great. The trousers are part of a tailored fit suit from Next and the overshirt is from Gant. Again, a simple block colour tee makes a great base layer - and it saves on ironing.
Another revere collared shirt I hear you say? Yes, of course. This particular one is from New Look Men's and is made from such a nice fabric. Supersoft, and light weight, this shirt will be getting a lot of wear over the next few months. I layered it up with a white vest, for a retro 50's vibe, and a simple pair of skinny jeans. This would work just as well tucked in to a pair of tailored trousers, or with a pair of shorts in the summer. When it comes to denim, I prefer something with a bit of stretch seeing as I'm going to be sat around the house.
This look features two things I really love: my ecru jeans and a striped shirt. The shirt is something I've had for a while from Farah, and if I'm being honest, is something that hasn't been worn enough. I think the colouring looks great with these jeans, and I accessorised the look with my necklace from Miansai and trainers from Cody & Co trainers.
