If you're like me, one of the best parts of Christmas is getting to surprise my friends and family with gifts, and seeing their faces when they open them on Christmas morning. I actually enjoy traipsing around the high streets picking up items for loved ones, as it both gets me in the festive spirit and mean I can spend time finding the best presents for them. If this sounds like your worst nightmare, or if you need a little help, I've compiled my gift guide for the holiday season, to give you guys a few ideas and maybe a few things to pop on your own Christmas wish list.

I had to start with one of my favourite items at Christmas - candles. Whether it's for a cosy night in, or a dinner party with friends, I feel candles make a house a home and it's always nice to light a few when you have guests over or you need to relax after a long day. One of my favourites at the moment is this one from Jo Malone, as it has a wintery fragrance without being restricted to the holiday season. It also comes in an amazing gift box, which'll save you wrapping it up! Get yours here - Jo Malone £45

If you want to give the gift that keeps on giving, then one of Cornerstone's Men's Grooming boxes may be for you. I've featured the brand before on the blog and with their regular subscription boxes, you can hook one of your male relatives up with everything he needs for a clean shave and perfect grooming routine. Whether it's a one off gift box, or a regular subscription you want to sign them up for, with three easy steps you can have everything they need delivered to their door stress free. You can tailor-make the contents of the box to suit their needs and choose how regular they receive it too, based on their shaving routine. For more info - check out the Cornerstone website here.

One of my favourite brands when it comes to watches is Rotary. They make extremely high quality, classic time pieces that never go out of style and that come at a very decent price point. My favourite watch that I own is from there, and I'm so lucky to have gotten my hands on this gorgeous pair recently. I opted for the Cambridge Chronograph in stainless steel for that touch of sports inspired sophistication, accompanied by the Midnight Sky Kensington female alternative. These watches speak for themselves with their sleek design and Swiss made construction, making them the perfect gift to show your loved ones how much you care. I'd definitely be over the moon if this was under my tree Christmas morning, so check out the full range. | His: Cambridge £269, Hers: Kensington £169.

Sometimes gifts don't need to be big and extravagant. I think it's always nice to buy smaller festive items as stocking fillers or add-ons for the home. NEXT have some amazing Christmas inspired items for you to get your hands on, whether it be for your loved ones of for your own house. It's the perfect time of the year to surround yourself with plush interiors and they've launched a number of items that have personalised touches such as monogrammed lettering and prints.

If you're a regular reader of my blog or follow me on instagram, you'll know the one of my favourite brands this year has undoubtedly been Aspinal of London. I have an ever growing collection of bags and other items from them, and have a number of gifts for my own friends and family this Christmas. The quality of their leather goods is second to none and they truly understand the British gentleman and his style needs.

I have everything from a backpack, to a cardholder, to a phone case and love each and every item. There's something nice about unwrapping a piece of luxury on Christmas morning and Aspinal definitely delivers. They also offer personalisation of a lot of their items which makes it even more special.

Recently, one of my favourite fragrances has been Molton Brown's Russian Leather. It has such a warmth to the smell that immediately reminds me of being sat in front of the fire at home. It's the perfect winter fragrance and is extremely versatile from day to night with notes of Siberian pine oil, cade oil and birch. It won't break your bank either, unalike similar fragrances from other brands. They also offer the matching shower/bath gel and candle in the fragrance if you wish to purchase the full set. Find it here, at Molton Brown. £45

If your gent prefers electronic gadgets, why not choose one of Panasonic's new electrical shavers. They have two new models on the market and they're the perfect gadget to keep us guys looking well groomed all year round. More guys are taking pride in their appearance and taking charge of their grooming routine, including their hair. This puts the guy in control and has up to 20 different shaving lengths and can double up as a beard trimmer for those who don't like to be clean shaven. Whether its a haircut or a simple beard trim, I'm sure we all know a guy who could benefit from one of these this Christmas. Available from Panasonic, starting at £59.99.

Obviously these are only a few recommendations and I'm sure you'll have a few ideas of your own to keep you going. I guess the main thing is to simply enjoy the holiday period and not get too caught up in the stress of everything, and to make sure you get time to enjoy the company of your loved ones. It's not all about the presents, but spending time to pick the perfect gift can definitely make someone Christmas. Happy gift hunting!
