The British Summer Time can be a little temperamental, but when the sun decides to grace us with its appearance - it's beautiful! This weekend I managed to head home and spend time with the family to soak up the rays. Not only is is great for Vitamin D, but everything looks better in the sun - and I never turn down he chance to top up my tan.

Something that I love about England in Summer, is the country side. I think theres something special about heading out in the sun and driving through the fields to find a nice spot for lunch. This time we decided to head to the fields of West Sussex, for a spot of 'Pick Your Own'. It's a great chance to get out in the fresh air, whilst feeling like a kid strawberry picking again.

I'm not one for shorts and flip flops in the summer weather, and never have been, but this weekend reminded me that I need to update my summer wardrobe. I like to play it safe in the summer and often go for easy, relaxed tailoring in cooler shades, but I've recently had my eye on a few other pieces that would make great additions to my wardrobe for the upcoming months. Yes - it is already August, but in recent years the heat's carried all the way through to early October.

Neutral tones and light denim are perfect for this time of year. They keep you cool and are brilliant at piecing together as part of your summer capsule wardrobe. The thin layers and cotton textures, let your skin skin breath and keep that effortless style going. As ever, I find that blues and grey's dominate my choices, but they've always done me well. So whether you're sat in your garden with a G&T or off enjoying the city sun, make sure you do it in style this Summer!
